Sparkling Riesling (NV)
Clean, fresh, Clare-fruit lemony aromas with lovely bright, crisp flavours and revitalising structure that brings a smile to the sparkles and an uncomplicated pleasure in the wine.
*Consumer panel runner up - Hyatt, Advertiser SA Wine of the Year Awards, August 2007.
2011 Riesling
Skillogalee has nominated by Gourmet Traveller “Wine” Magazine as one of Australia’s Top Ten Riesling producers. The 2011 vintage continues the proud tradition – zingy lime and lemon citrus with some mineral notes and a lingering crisp, dry finish – ideal on its own or with seafood.
2010 Trevarrick Riesling
The 2010 Trevarrick Riesling is the 3rd Riesling we have bottled under our premium label. It shows a wonderful example of the spectacular fruit that comes off this vineyard.
2008 Chardonnay(Lees Stirred)
In 2003 Skillogalee acquired 30 hectares of vineyard adjoining our existing property. While this acquisition mainly expanded our supply of mature riesling, cabernet and shiraz, there is a hectare of chardonnay, planted around 28 years ago.
2010 Gewurztraminer
Our Gewurztraminers are made in the classic style - aromatic and spicy with a crisp finish. The 2010 shows the unmistakable floral, rose petal aromas and flavours of Traminer fruit, sometimes also reminiscent of passionfruit or lychees. It has a strength of flavour and texture without being oily or overpowering, making it an ideal accompaniment to lightly spiced Asian food or flavoursome white meat dishes.
2011 Rosé (Cabernet Malbec)
Our first few vintages of rosé were so successful we have made this one in the same style. There’s fresh raspberry and strawberry on the nose and the palate, a hint of sweetness and a fine acid /tannin structure. This wine is best served chilled, especially during the warmer months, and is a great food match, particularly with fresh seafood, duck and contemporary Asian cuisine.
2009 Take Two (Shiraz/Cabernet)
This wine is the third in a new series of Skillogalee wines designed to be softer, more approachable, and to sell at a more modest price-point than our standard label red wines. We have sought to be less serious with the label also, with a fun story linking the name to the wine, on the back.
2009 The Cabernets
This Cabernet blend is another dark, rich wine in the Skillogalee tradition, with intense colour and powerful, warm aromas and flavours. The wine is full and soft with sweet, leafy fruit flavours, rich vanillin oak and firm structural tannins.
2008 Shiraz
The premium Shiraz fruit for this wine was picked from low yielding, unirrigated vines growing on the slopes around the Skillogalee homestead, around 450m above sea level. This Shiraz is a dark, rich wine in the Skillogalee tradition, with intense colour and powerful, warm aromas and flavours. On the nose and the palate there are blackberry, mulberry, plum and leather characters with hints of pepper and eucalyptus. The tannin structure is fine and there is a good level of natural acidity, keeping the wine fresh and lively and with a good measure of elegance.
2007 Trevarrick Cabernet Shiraz
The Trevarrick name is reserved for wines that are of exceptional quality and varietal character.
This wine has great drive and weight, showing luscious fruit characters and structure from both varieties. The best quality oak balances with ripe tannins and a lingering acidity.
Liqueur Muscat
Our Liqueur Muscat is a rich red amber colour with a fresh, sweet raisin nose. The palate shows nutty raisin and apricot flavours, very full and sweet, but not cloying. The finish is lingering – very smooth and more-ish. The wine has been recently repackaged in a fabulous heavy clear glass bottle and comes individually boxed.
