Skillogalee has a vibrant, busy and cosy restaurant, where you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon sampling some of the Clare Valleys best food. All the dishes have wine suggestions matched to them on the menu. So while we are preparing your entree head into the cellar door for a tasting.

What started out in 1990 as an idea to serve food to visitors who came to taste wine soon blossomed into a restaurant with its own strong identity and a national reputation.

Seating 30 inside in two rooms and a further 50 outside on the veranda and under the shade of an old olive tree, overlooking the cottage garden and the vines, the restaurant is open for lunch from 12 midday to 3.30pm 7 days a week.

The emphasis is on interesting dishes from around the world using the best ingredients, local if possible, well-presented and professionally served, but in a relatively informal atmosphere. The menu changes frequently according to the season and what ingredients are available and fresh. Morning and afternoon teas are also offered - the best scones in the Valley! - and gourmet picnic baskets are available by arrangement.

The restaurant was the first full-time, professional winery restaurant in the Clare Valley and is open 7 days a week, 364 days a year. We currently operate on a producers licence - our own wines are available by the bottle and by the glass, with a selection of beers also available.
