Skillogalee’s wines are renowned for their full-bodied and rich flavours, derived from the exceptional fruit grown on our single estate vineyards situated in the Sevenhill subregion of the Clare Valley. Nestled amidst the picturesque rolling hills and native bushland, our vineyards were established in 1970 and are home to low-yielding old vines, producing fruit with distinctive, nuanced flavours.
Our vineyards are carefully tended to by hand, with sustainable practices that reduce chemical use and promote natural biodiversity. We rely on natural rainfall for dry-grown vines, and each parcel of fruit is hand-picked and fermented individually to ensure the terroir and varietal character of each grape is retained. The result is an exceptional range of hand-crafted wines with minimal intervention, and a true expression of the unique terroir of Skillogalee.
Our Estate Wines encapsulate the distinctive character of Skillogalee’s eponymous Skilly Valley terroir. Cool, crisp climate and high elevation create a perfect balance of acidity and ripeness in our grapes, while the unique dolomite soils infuse a distinct minerality into the flavour profile. The result is a wine with a strong sense of place and identity that reflects the best of the region. When you sip our estate wines, you’ll experience the essence of Skillogalee in every glass.
