Skillogalee House is a significant heritage homestead at the heart of the Skillogalee estate, currently undergoing a considered restoration and expansion. The project retains the original character of the homestead while introducing a contemporary, state-of-the-art addition designed to support exclusive private stays.
Once complete, Skillogalee House will become the estate’s most substantial and distinctive accommodation, offering a rare combination of history, scale, privacy, and modern comfort in the Clare Valley.
The restoration
The restoration of Skillogalee House has been approached with care and intent. Original heritage elements are being preserved and respected, while a new extension is being introduced to meet the expectations of modern, high-end stays.
The finished residence will include multiple private suites within the main homestead, a separate accessible studio, generous indoor and outdoor living areas, and a pool, all set within established gardens overlooking vineyards and the estate dam.
This is a long-term investment in the future of the estate, with the finished residence designed to sit comfortably alongside Skillogalee’s vineyards, Barrel House, restored restaurant and cellar door, and surrounding landscape.
Future stays
Bookings for Skillogalee House are not yet available. Reservations are expected to open later this year, with stays commencing in 2026.
When complete, Skillogalee House will be offered for exclusive use and will suit guests seeking privacy, space, and a deeply considered estate stay, including extended group visits, private retreats, and stays connected with celebrations held across the estate.
