The Barrel House: A New Chapter at Skillogalee
Thoughtfully designed to blend rustic charm with modern comfort, the Barrel House is a space where tradition and innovation meet. Clad in sleek steel with Blackbutt timber accents, it reflects the natural beauty of the Skillogalee estate. Built with sustainability in mind, it features solar power, water harvesting, and native landscape regeneration.
Inside, the high-ceilinged space opens onto a verandah with sweeping views of the estate dam, rolling vineyards, and the iconic Skilly hills. This inviting setting offers a unique way to experience the landscape and flavours of the Clare Valley.

Purpose-built for barrel aging red and fortified wines, the Barrel House reflects our dedication to small-batch, premium winemaking that highlights the Clare Valley’s unique terroir. Guests can also experience the rich aromas and atmosphere of barrel aging up close.
BEYOND THE TRANSITION
Once our historic cellar door and restaurant are restored, the Barrel House will become a dedicated venue for weddings, events, and celebrations, while continuing to house our barrel aging program. This versatile space will complement our restaurant, creating a truly distinctive destination in the Clare Valley.
Accommodation Guests
We’re pleased to offer guests staying on the estate an exclusive dining option with our “Almost Ready” In-Room Dining Menu. Each meal is freshly prepared by our chefs and designed for you to finish effortlessly in the comfort of your private kitchen.

Planning a special celebration? While our historic cottage restaurant undergoes restoration, the Barrel House is available for a limited number of private events. Whether it’s an intimate gathering, elegant wedding, or corporate function, we offer bespoke options to make your occasion truly memorable.
From 2026, the Barrel House will transition into a dedicated event venue, providing a stunning setting for unforgettable celebrations.
