This wine is a true survivor – crafted from grapes grown on individual legacy vines that have steadfastly remained Grenache when the rest of the vineyard was grafted to alternate varieties decades ago.
Ruby red in the glass, there’s plenty to love about this medium-bodied beauty, with fragrant strawberry and cherry aromas and hints of floral spice. Lively acidity and soft tannins harmonise with a distinctive touch of earthiness and a subtle minerality which sings of the soils we’re so proud to care for.
SMALLBATCH CABERNET FRANC
With fruit from our gloriously aged estate vines, this wine has it all going on when it comes to elegance. Moreish plum and black currant aromas are just where they should be, along with beguiling chimes of cedar and green bell pepper. Eight months in French oak has elevated bright fruit flavours and acidity, which get along famously in the glass with herbal undertones and firm tannins.
We really love this wine alongside rich pasta dishes or a platter of South Australian cheeses – but the options are endless. It will cellar beautifully too, if you’re so inclined.
Made with fruit picked from dry-grown vines thriving in the gully in front of our cellar door, surrounded by natural bushland and big Clare Valley skies, this wine is characterised by a gorgeously inky purple hue.
Aromas of lifted violets and fresh complex florals marry with lashings of dark fruit and subtle spice and leather flavours. A fine structure is sealed with a smooth finish and lingering chocolate notes.
Sensational on its own, or so good with hearty dishes and rich sauces – we’re already planning cooler weather feasts.
